Below you will find a compilation of research for a variety of edible fruit and nut (shrubs & trees) that grow well in North Florida. A combination of planting, harvesting, and cooking tips can be found in each one along with links to recipes (some simple and some complicated) that we thought would be fun to try and share! We hope you enjoy this page as a starter reference point for growing edible species in North Florida.

The items listed below are all food species found in our food forests. We use a blend of native and non-native edibles.

Many of our native species are not as refined for eating fresh off of the plant, but they are all delicious in their own way. Many of our native edibles make great jams and jellies.

Adding in additional food plants from non-native areas similar to ours helps give us a diversity of foods to enjoy around the year.
